Obstetrics and Gynecology (often abbreviated to OB/GYN, OBG, O&G or Obs & Gynae) is the medical specialty that deals with obstetrics and gynecology. This combined OB/GYN refers to female reproductive organs and with pregnancy. Obstetrics & Gynecological surgery is usually performed by gynecologists. It includes procedures for benign conditions, cancer, infertility, and incontinence, cosmetic purposes and surgeries concerned with childbirth and midwifery. Performed using vaginal speculum, cusco speculum, sim’s speculum, depressor, retractor, delivery forceps, hemostat forceps, tissue scissor, tissue forceps and various needles.
