Quality Assurance

Every Hospitime instrument must pass detailed Quality Assurance (QA) tests before it can be sold.
Instruments are tested for:

  • Material
  • Workmanship
  • Function
  • Pattern Consistency
  • Critical Dimensions

We just don’t make instruments, we craft every single surgical instrument in detail and perform the following QA tests to ensure that every instrument we produce or sell will perform its function during critical surgical procedures and can with hold greatest number of sterilisation cycles without loosing its working quality and have a longer life.

Surface assessment

All instruments are visually assessed for imperfections in material and surface finish. They should have a flawless and an impeccable satin finish and be free of excess lubricants and foreign substances.

Dimensions verified

Critical dimensions are measured with calipers, micrometers, or other specialty gauges and compare the diameters of various catheters, sounds or bougies using the French, English or American scales and to technical drawings or Hospitime catalog descriptions. To ensure pattern consistency selected instruments are compared to inspection samples.
